Last week the children practised measuring objects with non-standard unit measures. This week they did the same thing using metric units with centimetre rulers, metre rulers and tape measures. Many of them went back to the same things they measured last week to check what the exact measurements were. It was great to see some fantastic collaboration and challenging thinking happening. They learned to always begin measuring from zero and to use different units for different tasks.
