Weekly Notices, Term 3, Week 10

Welcome to Week 10, the last week of Term 3 2022. The October School Holidays start at the end of the week, as does the new fishing season on Saturday the First, so everybody can probably guess what Mr Bach will be doing all day Saturday. This week we have our School Production, Little Red Rocking Hood that will dominate proceedings, with a Dress Rehearsal on Tuesday and matinee and evening shows on Wednesday and Thursday. The evening shows are sold out but there are still tickets available for the matinee shows. Mrs Trask has done a magnificent job with her organisation and direction of the show and we are looking forward to seeing children in action. Some parents and caregivers still need to send in production clothes for their children. Please see the notice sent home or last week's blog for details.

We have had a couple of items come through for our charity Christmas box collection. Thanks to the Stahlhut family for their contributions shown by David and Simon below. See the information below if you wish to contribute.

This term we are taking part in Operation Christmas Child. Each class has a shoebox that they will pack with different gifts, prayers, and letters. This will be sent to a child across the world who would not normally receive a gift on Christmas Day. Your child may wish to put a little something special into the box. Look at  “Operation Christmas Child Videos 2022” which has some inspiring videos and ideas.

Weekly Notices, Term 3, Week 9

Welcome, all parents and caregivers to Week 9 with Spring well and truly in the air. There are now only two weeks until the holidays at the end of Term 3. A reminder that next week on Monday the 26th of September we will be commemorating the Queen's passing with a one-off public holiday and therefore there will be no school on this day. We are also getting close to the opening day of our School Production in Week 10. The children have been practising hard and Mrs Trask has been doing a fantastic job in putting everything together with the children. The evening shows are already sold out and only tickets for the Matinee Performance now remain.

Fun Run

Mrs Bowen's doing a great job with the Fun Run organisation.

On Friday October 21, we will be holding our sponsored event.

 School COLOUR Fun Run!

Fantastic Fundraising

The effort and enthusiasm from students has been fantastic and we’ve had a

great start to our big fundraiser for the year, as we were unable to hold a Gala

Day.

Can your child come up with ideas to help them fundraise - chores, helping a

neighbour in the garden, and I am sure there are many more ideas they can

think of.

Please keep sharing your child's link

Go to schoolfunrun.co.nz,

share your online fundraising link via SMS, Email and Social Media. If someone

would like to sponsor your child and give them cash, they can do this.  Please

take the money to the office, with your child's name and room number and we

will be able to add the amount to their profile.

THANK YOU! For the support we have received from everyone.  It

isn’t too late to make a profile for your child if you haven’t done

one yet.

Top Class for Week 2 of the Promotion

Be the class that raises the most for the week

and win ice cream sundaes for your class Golden Time

Week 1 classes who will receive juicies.

Congratulations to Room 3 and Room 12.

Production Clothes

Some children are yet to bring their clothes for the production. Please see the notes below if you haven't already sent in your child's costume.

Once you have found an option for your child’s costume, please keep it safe for a few weeks and then put it in a named bag and bring it to school to give to your class teacher in WEEK 8. This way we can check everyone has a costume and have them all ready to go for Week 9 Rehearsals and Week 10’s shows.

It is only two weeks to go and it is Showtime. Everything seems to be going along smoothly thanks to Mrs Trask's great organisational skills. She is doing a fantastic job of keeping all staff and children informed about what is going on

Wednesday Mr Macmillan hosts the Principal’s luncheon at 11.45 in the staffroom. Invitations will be given to children tomorrow.

School Fun Run

The School Fun Run is all about FUN!

October 21 2022

Get behind the school and help us reach our goal.  This is replacing the

Gala Day this year.

How Does My Child Fundraise?

Firstly, go to schoolfunrun.co.nz and create a student profile page. Everything to do with your fundraising

revolves around this page. Share the page with family and friends

(Facebook, email or text) and let the fundraising begin.  The children can offer to do a chore, help in

some way to exchange for sponsorship.  The children can have fun watching

their page evolve, collect stickers, earn badges and see the leaderboard.

Students who raise just $10 will be able to choose a prize! The more they raise,

the better their reward – you will find the full range in your sponsorship form.

WIN  JUICY’S FOR THE CLASS

The class who has the most profiles by Friday 16th will receive Juicy’s.

Winners will have the Juicy’s delivered to their class on Monday.

We sing a lot of Andrew’s songs at our Masses and liturgies. It will be an awesome celebration so I encourage everyone to come to Mass on this day.

Weekly Notices, Term 3, Week 7

Weekly Notices - Term 3, Week 7

Happy Father's Day to all our dads today.  We hope you are having a wonderful day and your children are spoiling you.

Thanks to everyone who supported our P.T.A by purchasing a gift from their Father's Day stall, it is much appreciated.

On Friday we farewelled Miss Bowie with a lovely shared morning tea.  Thank you for providing a delicious plate of goodies to eat.  We are going to miss her lots, but wish her well in her new adventure.  On Monday Shelly Taylor starts as the new Room 15 teacher.  She has popped in a few times during the last week to get to know the students and spend time with us.  We know that our children will make her feel very welcome and be kind to her as she settles into her new school.

School Production - Little Red Rocking Hood

All classes are working hard at practicing their dance for the production. The children are doing amazingly well learning their dance. Here are some of the important dates/information you need to know.

Weeks 7-8 - Classes continue to practice their dance routine at school during school time.

Week 8 - Bring your costumes to school in a named bag and give it to your teacher. Your costume is a plain white t-shirt and plain black or navy pants or shorts for the boys, and a plain white t-shirt and a bright flowy skirt (any colours or patterns) for the girls. Everyone will be bare feet. Your costumes will stay at school until after the production is completed. Costumes need to be at school this week as we have full dress rehearsals next week.

Week 9 - Full dress rehearsals at school during school time. This is our practice runs for the production next week. They will all happen during school time.

Week 10 - Production week. The production will take place on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th of September in the school hall. On each of these days there will be two performances - a matinee (during school time) and an evening performance. The production will be about an hour long. Our classes have been split into two groups and your child is expected to be at both performances. If your child is in the Rock & Roll Choir, they perform on both days (all 4 performances)

The performance schedule is as follows:

Wednesday 28 September : Group A

Room 1, Room 3, Room 5, Room 14, Room 15

Kakano 7, Kakano 8, Kakano 2, Kakano 5

Thursday 29 September: Group B

Room 12, Room 16, Room 17, Room 2, Room 4

Kakano 1,  Kakano 4, Kakano 3, Kakano 6

We are not selling tickets to our school show through the office this year. Tickets can be bought online from Eventbrite. There is only a certain number of tickets for each show so once they are sold that is it. The price is $6.67 per ticket.
